Nancy McNeill King

Nancy McNeill King of Fair Bluff, 83, died Sunday, January 3, 2021 at her home while
surrounded by her family. Nancy was born in Mullins, South Carolina to the late Montgomery
McNeill and Ruth Rogers McNeill on February 3, 1937.
Nancy spent her early years working on the family farm. She graduated from Peace College and
later met and married William “Bill” King of Fair Bluff. After moving to Stone Mountain Georgia,
Nancy worked for the State of Georgia. Eventually they returned to their roots and have been
back on the farm in Fair Bluff for the past 25 years. Nancy loved her family dearly and was
proud of her family heritage. Nancy was a member of the Daughters of the American
Revolution (DAR). She recently became a new member of the Colonial Dames. Nancy enjoyed
researching her family ancestors and would travel about with her cousin Mary Alice Thompson
hunting records and searching for headstones in old cemeteries.
Nancy worked part-time for the Columbus County Board of Elections, helping and greeting
voters and was a member of the Fair Bluff Baptist Church.
Graveside services to celebrate and remember Nancy’s life will be held at Spring Branch Baptist
Church Cemetery on January 7, 2021 at 2:00 p.m., with the Dr. Ray Lundy officiating.
Nancy is survived by her children, Kathryn Shropshire and husband Michael Shropshire of
Rutledge, Georgia, Susan Hill and husband Chris Hill of Newport, North Carolina; grandchildren,
Jared Campbell and wife Holly, Meghan Murray and husband Allen, and Sydney Hill; 2 great-
grandchildren Raegan Murray and Jackson Campbell; sibling, Beth Enzor and her husband Earl
Enzor of Kinston.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” King
who passed away in November of 2019.

Columbus Regional Hospital staff, and Community Home Care & Hospice – Teresa, Tracy,
Nicole, Amy.
